Gateway Community Health Center is Hiring a Registration Manager Near Leander, TX

DESCRIPTION: Assure successful day-to-day operations of the registration staff while being a strong leader/mentor to the staff. This person should be a forward thinker with a strong desire to understand community health center industry they are working in and be able to provide thoughtful insight to all situations. Oversees overall operation of the registration activities at all Clinic sites (Laredo, Jim Hogg, and Zapata) and ensures compliance by all sites with the overall rules and regulations under which the Center operates.
SUPERVISION: Directly supervised by the Chief Financial Officer.
SUPERVISES: Registration Coordinator & Registration Clerks.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires intermittent sitting and standing. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires the use of office equipment such as a calculator, computer, copier, etc. Requires travel to other clinic locations.
Functions And Responsibilities
  • Performs monthly, quarterly, and yearly audits as needed in the registration department for quality assurance and improvement as required by the Center's compliance program.
  • Prepares real-time reports/dashboards for CFO on registration's workflows.
  • Determine trends in operational performance and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Works with Business Office to keep abreast of insurance/payer changes and assures registration staff is informed.
  • Works with each department Director, Administrators and staff in evaluating department operational efficiency.
  • Reviews and evaluates all Incident reports related to registration staff to determine severity and appropriate follow-up.
  • Addresses patient complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner and reports findings and if necessary through the incident report process.
  • Assures patient services are delivered in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Creates and/or updates Registration Policies and Procedures and develops Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assures that all Center employees have the ability to access an updated Registration Policies and Procedures Manual and that all departments adhere to the aforementioned manual.
  • Participates in the Center's Compliance, Performance Improvement and Risk Management (CPIRM) activities as required on a monthly basis.
  • Works with Registration Coordinator to provide ongoing training to staff and provide monthly trainings as required to improve registration services to ensure compliance with Center policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates employees under his/her/their supervision.
  • Coordinates new employee orientation with Registration Coordinator.
  • Assists in interviewing for vacant positions under his/her/their supervision.
  • Monitors daily attendance for all staff for accuracy and assures that reports are forwarded to the appropriate office on predetermined dates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • College education may be substituted for five years of healthcare experience.
  • At least three years of management experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

  • Ability to interpret, understand and carry out instructions and orders.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Possess basic knowledge of compliance and HIPAA.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to create Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently to all Clinic sites.
  • Knowledge of clinical and operational functions performed in a primary care setting.
  • Knowledge of individual as well as group dynamics and community organizations.
