Job Title: Head of Human Resources
Location: Greater Saint Louis
Start Date: Immediate
Position Overview:
Gateway Fiber is seeking an outstanding individual to join our leadership team as Head of Human Resources. The leader will be responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining the team at Gateway, leading all human resources related activities. This includes hiring the best talent, coaching on team leadership, helping resolve employee relations issues, and managing programs that develop our teams. The leader will also play a key role in the advancement of our culture.
Since its founding in 2019 Gateway has grown into a leading, national fiber-to-the-home platform with a presence in three states and plans for further national expansion. With the support of its financial sponsor CBRE Investment Management, Gateway plans to reach 500,000 homes and businesses with its service over the next several years. With that growth, we plan to make significant investments in our team. The Head of Human Resources will be joining a team that brings decades of experience in deploying telecommunications infrastructure and that has built Gateway into one of the leading fiber-to-the-home platforms nationwide.

Position Expected Outcomes:
The Head of Human Resources is expected to:
  • Be a strategic partner on the leadership team to understand and continuously improve organizational health.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business, our customers, operations and key drivers.
  • Partner with each leader to help run the business, equipping them with the human resources and related best practices to execute.
  • Lead a robust talent program, including all aspects of the talent lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, development, and compensation.
  • Experiment, tinker and nudge to see constant improvement to the talent program and livelihood of the employee base.
  • Evaluate and evolve current employee benefits programs.
  • Develop and sustain a performance management process.
  • Create a people and culture dashboard with key metrics to evaluate people-process performance.
  • Key Performance Indicators:
    • Recruit and onboard 50 outstanding new hires in the next twelve months

    • Measure and track Employee Satisfaction metrics (Gateway believes that happy employees make for happy customers)

    • Connect Customer Net Promoter (Gateway currently outperforms the industry by leaps and bounds) to people processes

    • Tie Gateway's lofty corporate goals and related metrics to people

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong people leader and leadership team member.
  • 7 years’ experience in people operations, human resources, operations or other related fields.
  • Experience in growth stage company is preferred.
  • Proven capability to foster connectedness and culture throughout all organizational levels.
  • Experience and comfort working with geographically dispersed people-leaders and employees is a must.
  • Experience working with outside employment counsel on Federal and state-specific employment policies and best-practices.
  • Administrator level experience in an Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS, Paylocity and JazzHR preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree is a must; MBA or graduate degree in related field preferred.
