We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant for our small animal hospital. Veterinary experience required. We have a full time-position open. Some evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required.

Duties:

• Assisting Veterinarians with holding canine and feline pets as vaccines are administered and tests are performed.

• Educating clients on preventative pet care.

• Ability to determine which preventatives and vaccines are best suited to their pet's lifestyle.

• Reconciling end of day, vaccine certificates, bank reconciliation, heartworm testing results, restocking.

• Cleaning kennels and walking pets.

Qualifications:

• Veterinary experience/knowledge required.

• Available to work on Saturdays and Sundays

.• Comfortable with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes.

• Ability to appropriately & safely restrain (when necessary) fractious pets.

• Able to lift 50 lbs, kneel, squat and stand for long periods of time.

• Strong product knowledge including Heartworm Preventatives, Flea Preventatives & Vaccine Protocols.

• Detail oriented with the ability to think clearly and multitask in a busy environment.

• Ability to perform basic math accurately.

• Have strong client education & communication skills.

• A can-do attitude and a team player!!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Veterinary Technician Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
