ABOUT THE POSITION : We are searching for a Buyer who will be responsible for assisting to identify and manage supplier relationships in Asia and the USA. Areas of focus will include vendor identification, product sourcing, retail market positioning, competitor shopping, cost negotiation, gross margin management, supply and buy planning process, inventory level management, purchase order dispatching, data management. T his position will support families of direct/indirect materials and the purchasing of finished goods. Effectively maintaining and updating item attribute(s) data in the ERP system and creating and analyzing critical report KPI data.
Responsibilities

• Act as an expert with understanding of key trends that may impact the competitive landscape of categories supported.
• Working with Asia and Domestic based suppliers to uncover opportunities and turn them into actionable assortment recommendations.
• Develop and leverage cross functional relationships (Product Development, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality Control) to build effective plans and strategies for categories supported.
• Demonstrate agility and capability to pivot business needs when shifts in business trajectory occur.
• Leverage KPI’s to shift buying position, capitalizing on opportunities to mitigate risk throughout the year.
• Assist withoperational elements of the buying position, including but not limited to purchase order: creation, execution and maintenance. Product development and customer sample follow up. Cost Negotiation with suppliers and other pricing activities. Tracking manufacturing schedules assuring on time PO completion. Coordinating with logistics team for product pickup and shipping.
• Research potential suppliers and products based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers.
• Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Resolve issues with suppliers regarding quality or delivery.
• Keep accurate records of purchases and prices.
• Assist in developing and evaluating suppliers based on performance metrics.
• Own and maintain data management for all products.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in wholesale purchasing of consumer goods and/or indirect procurement
• Minimum 2 years' experience purchasing, sourcing and contract negotiation with Asia based suppliers, and familiarity in the manufacturing process of consumer goods preferred.
• Experience in Demand Planning/Forecasting or in a close cross functional collaboration with this function.
• Prior experience and/or extensive knowledge in our company’s consumer goods categories is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, comfortable with data and ability to perform data modeling
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Ability to coordinate tasks across multiple functions, global locations and time zones.
• Understanding of inventory management requirements
• Analytical and reporting skills from data acquired from ERP systems
• Experience in Net Suite, Visual, and/or SAGE, a plus
• Ability to follow Gathr’s policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles
