Job Summary: Working in this capacity the Mechanical Engineer develops new products and supports existing products using engineering and industrial design principles.

Responsibilities:

• Reverse engineering of products to be remanufactured.
• Analysis and reporting on part and product failure modes.
• Mechanical design of replacement components and parts used in the remanufacturing process.
• Production tooling design.
• Management of bill of materials (BOM) assemblies and costing.
• Dimensional, material and functional analysis of first articles, samples and production components.
• First article approvals and required documentation.
• Develop 3D models and 2D prints of parts to be manufactured.
• Develop production processes for new products. Improve production processes of existing product lines to improve quality and or volume and efficiency.
• Documentation of production processes and part inspections.
• Sourcing and interfacing with vendors on new and existing product development.
• Oversee new product development from concept stage through development.
• Assist Production Managers with successful release of new parts. Assist with the development of technical bulletins and instructions to be included with products.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical design experience.
• Prior design experience in the automotive/transportation industry preferred
• 2D and 3D CAD software (Solid Works, Rhinoceros, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products with exceptional competence in Microsoft Excel.
