GE Aerospace is Hiring a Sourcing Specialist - Sourcing Management Near Vermont, IL

Job Description Summary In this role, you'll work to drive on time delivery from our repair suppliers to GE Aviation. You'll work directly with teams to problem solve and drive delivery improvements using Standard Work and Lean tools & methodology.
The specific focus is on repair supplier performance including current delivery and capacity and capability for the future. Problem solve where TAT (turnaround) doesn't meet the standard to support the GE Overhaul network. You will identify and interpret internal and external business challenges and to recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services. Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including suppliers, production, and quality to resolve complex sourcing issues
  • Responsible for planning and execution to meet customer and business metrics
  • Interface with the customer service managers on issues escalation
  • Conduct root cause analysis of sourcing issues and implement action plans and countermeasures to prevent recurrence
  • Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3 years of sourcing or materials fulfillment experience (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4 years of sourcing or materials fulfillment experience).
Desired Characteristics
  • Proven lean acumen experience.
  • Shop operations or overhaul experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence.
  • MRO experience.
