Roles and Responsibilities:
Will initially be involved in active multicore IRAD efforts, and will be involved in supporting programs to define a certifiable approach to multi-core enabled systems. This includes processor trades and support for various IRADs including the IMA Demonstrator.
The effort will also involve working with the Gemini program to understand their needs and help.
Long term this engineer would help define GE Aerospace processor roadmap by engaging with processor suppliers to understand key features and trends within the industry.
Multi-core will be a need for various programs throughout CNMS that will require multi-year support to coordinate not just processor selection, but to coordinate use case plans for multi-core certification for adopting programs.
It is expected that this engineer will be involved in processing and operating systems, support relevant committees, write white papers, and provide general applications engineering support.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Computer Architecture, Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 10 years' experience in Embedded Computing, Software, or Systems Engineering or equivalent capacity.
Ability and willingness to travel as required.
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to work in Grand Rapids, MI.

Desired Characteristics:
Strong knowledge of computer architectures, multi-core, and processor features • Real-Time Embedded Experience.
Knowledge of Avionics standards DO-178C, DO-254, CAST-32A, A(M)C20-193, AA-22-01, S3I-SWAQ-MCP-DOC-001, etc .
Experience with Civil/Military Certification.
