Description
This position supports the INNIO Order Engineering team in a design capacity for reciprocating engines and packaged generator sets. This position will work in global order engineering teams to deliver product solutions for our customers by completing custom design requests for new unit sales. In this position, you will utilize your skills in engineering design, CAD, BOM creation, project management and INNIO's quality system to deliver customer solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with customers, applications, & Product Line Management to identify custom order requirements, provide engineering data for quotes, create project timelines and complete custom sales order design activities
• Create new product designs and solve reliability issues related to electrical systems and wire harnessing on Waukesha engines, gensets and control panels.
• Participate in project teams as the electrical Order Engineering resource and complete all design tasks required to release the product on schedule
• Use expertise in design/reciprocating engines/gensets/electrical systems to help resolve manufacturing issues
• Produce 2D drawings which include the application of dimension techniques while considering manufacturability and design intent.
• Create and release complete technical data packages as required for production of new designs.
• Create and release customer documentation packages to provide instruction for Installation, Operation, and Maintenance.
• Provide technical support to other functional areas as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Design from an accredited Technical College or University is required along with a minimum of 2.5 years of experience in a design role.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Industrial engine, generator set, or switchgear design background with experience designing control panels, switchgear, junction boxes, controllers, electrical harnesses, or electrical schematics.

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated proficiency utilizing electrical engineering skills to analyze technical requirements and applying appropriate skill set to design and detail electrical systems.
• Experience with Creo, AutoCAD or other software for design, modeling and routing of wire harnesses on industrial machines.
• Industrial engine, generator set, control panels or switchgear background.
• Familiarity with Electrical Safety Standards (NFPA 70, UL, IEC) and applying them to designs as required.
• Proficiency in managing technical and organizational assignments
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Organizational skills required to effectively handle multiple tasks.
• Communication & Interpersonal skills required to function effectively with engineering and inter-department team.
• Experience with Oracle/SAP Business system.
