Sous Chef - Downtown Denver

Gecko Hospitality is now searching for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef in Downtown Denver. The ideal Sous Chef should oversee kitchen operations, uphold culinary standards, display a passion for hospitality, foster team connections, and exhibit problem-solving skills in a supportive work environment.

Our restaurants serve as welcoming spaces for social gatherings, family occasions, and employee development, driven by our commitment to quality ingredients, exceptional service, and nurturing relationships with our community, guests, and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, train and support staff.
  • Maintain culinary standards, oversee food production, ordering, cost control.
  • Demonstrate passion for hospitality through excellent service, product knowledge.
  • Foster team connections for collaborative teamwork.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills, multitasking abilities for effective leadership.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: up to $65,000

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years current experience as a salaried Sous Chef in a Full Service or Upscale Casual restaurant
  • High volume background - must have Sous Chef experience in restaurants doing over $4 million in sales per year
  • Ability to maintain high levels of food quality, consistency, and hygiene
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on with hiring, training, and developing hourly employees
  • Excellent work ethic and drive to succeed
  • Sous Chef candidates must be proficient with financials (P&L's, inventory, food/labor cost, etc.)
