GEICO is Hiring a Security and Safety Intelligence Analyst Near Chevy Chase, MD

GEICO Corporate Safety & Security (GCSS) seeks an Intelligence Analyst, a role combining knowledge in the principles of physical security and intelligence analysis to enhance our Threat Management and Intelligence & Analysis programs. Dual reporting to the Senior Manager of Security Operations Center and the Director of Threat Management, the role will further enhance the usage of threat monitoring and intelligence collection tools and use that information successfully across the GEICO landscape to maximize the benefit for safety and security of personnel, facilities, communities, and brand. An intelligence analyst will be educated on the risks and threats to the organization, complete with the skills to identify pertinent content and how it applies to both threat and crisis concerns. The intelligence analyst shall be an integral part of the team across all GCSS entities as a virtual presence and ability to integrate information for how it applies to an incident or pending concern is a necessity as our societal online presence grows exponentially. The role requires an individual who is self-motivated, creative, able to work independently with limited guidance, and able to work in a dynamic operating environment.
Essential Functions:
  • Intelligence collection & analysis. Monitoring developments/events/incidents/trends that may impact safety and security of GEICO assets and personnel, including civil unrest, crime, environmental hazards, terrorism, governance, and brand risks. Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data with a strong understanding and application of analytical techniques.
  • Intelligence production. Producing high-quality, timely analysis and preparing briefings, reports, and analytical products for GCSS leadership and stakeholders. Plan, research, and write analytical reports delivering actionable insights with high quality and value driven results.
  • Data driven analysis. Actively monitor security incidents to determine potential impact and maintain an awareness of strategic trends. Conduct strategic analysis on large data sets to include metrics, physical security trends, aggregate incidents, and crime statistics. Identify gaps in current analysis products and develop new solutions, methodologies, and products to help improve reporting.
  • Online and social media content development related to threat subjects. Utilizing threat monitoring tools and additional site search features, to gather and analyze content across the sites to develop a comprehensive threat assessment on persons of interest exhibiting behaviors of concern that may lead to harm or making direct threats of harm.
  • Threat management . Working with GCSS' Threat Management function to help actively and passively monitor persons or incidents of concern to inform workflows and pathways related to safety and security. The intelligence analyst will work within the structure of the Behavioral Assessment Response Team on all subjects of concern from case initiation to closure.
  • Maturing the GCSS counterintelligence program . Helping develop the intelligence aspect of the GCSS framework to include all safety and security needs across the platform related to virtual information gathering, context, and application. This program shall be a foundational need across all of GCSS, therefore the intelligence analyst role shall require a person who thrives in a team environment.
  • Cyber threat intelligence analysis . Proactively operating across virtual platforms for the identification and assessment of immediate and growing concerns, then gathering that information and providing it in a digestible format to GCSS and the Executive Leadership Team. This is a core function of the Threat Management program which includes working across a wide-variety of social engagement sites.
  • Incident response for GCSS and public information . During a critical incident, monitoring information specifically across virtual and other standard media platforms. Able to incorporate the context of the incident itself with both accurate and inaccurate information being shared internally and externally. Providing information to necessary divisions within GEICO to help make critical decisions related to emergent situations.
  • Crisis management support. Supporting business continuity, site/enterprise crisis teams during incidents or crises. Commit and available to support crisis situations and be on-call during irregular hours.
You Have:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (BA/BS) degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years of intelligence analysis experience (corporate experience is preferred).
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in risk communication from security operations to executive management.
  • Ability to quickly rebalance priorities as warranted by developing incidents or new information.
  • Experience liaising with federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
  • Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with threat intelligence, geo-risk platforms and event monitoring tools.
  • Experience in data mining methods and demonstrated ability to produce interactive data visualization. Data visualization skills including through Tableau; highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and limited travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office. Experience with intelligence collection tools and mapping software are highly desirable.
