The EV charging centers will feature ultra-fast EV chargers, a 24/7 lounge with restrooms and free Wi-Fi, an ecofriendly car wash, and will feature the ReCharge by Gelson’s convenience stores.

Our offerings will feature coffee service and delicious hot and cold snack and meal options to fuel up on site or to take and eat, like poke bowls and sushi, sandwiches and wraps, salads, charcuterie, and cheese plates - alongside a large assortment of single-serve and multi-pack cold beverages. Responsibilities:

As a Convenience Store Closing Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the convenience store, ensuring exceptional customer service, compliance with safety regulations, efficient inventory management, and effective merchandising. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining a clean and organized environment, optimizing product availability, and fostering a positive shopping experience for customers.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise store staff to ensure productivity and excellent customer service.
  • Facilitate necessary training for all department personnel.
  • Maximize product movement, consumer demand, and profitability through effective merchandising strategies.
  • Control stock levels based on ordering guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory for spoilage and ensure proper rotation of merchandise.
  • Maintain quality presentation of products and cleanliness of the store.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies, store rules, and company regulations, including local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and Health Department standards within the store.
  • Provide attentive and resourceful assistance to customers, resolving inquiries and requests promptly.
  • Assist customers in locating items, by accessing warehouse inventory, or handling difficult-to-reach products.
  • Strive to ensure customer interaction is positive and engaging.
  • Receive, unload, and inspect merchandise deliveries.
  • Verify vendor invoices and reconcile with received items.
  • Report and rectify receiving discrepancies promptly.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts of sales floor and warehouse.
  • Generate and process orders as required, maintaining optimal stock levels.
  • Utilize ordering programs to place orders with Distribution Centers and DSD vendors.
  • Verify accuracy of product descriptions, sizes, quantities, and pricing during deliveries.
  • Ensure proper rotation of merchandise and handle damaged or spoiled products according to company policy.
  • Assist in building store displays to enhance sales and turnover.
  • Ensure price changes are made daily, to ensure price integrity.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of refrigerated storage areas and cases.
  • Notify management of any pricing discrepancies or operational issues.
  • Maintain designated storage areas for products.
  • Operate the cash register as needed, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in transactions.
  • Reconcile daily cash reports and submit via Cash and Sales application.
  • Oversee the operation of smart safe and cash pickups with cash vendor.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent / bachelor’s degree is a plus, WAFC Retail Management Certificate is preferred
  • Five years’ of retail experience is required
  • Proven experience in grocery or c-store management is preferred.
  • Ability to operate all department machinery and equipment.
  • Skilled in independently prioritizing, planning, organizing, and monitoring multiple projects while adapting to changes in time frames.
  • Ability to operate a check stand POS system and demonstrate the ability to use basic math to calculate figures and amounts while operating a register.
  • Ability to effectively convey and understand information verbally and in written format.
  • Good people skills and ability to easily establish a rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management within the company.
  • Must possess strong leadership characteristics and work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment, and project and convey a positive attitude and be solution oriented.
  • Ability to solve practical problems where only limited standardization may exist.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.

Union pay range: $26.85 - $27.10
