Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, locating items, and resolving any customer concerns.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including all plumbing fixtures; replenish paper and soap supplies in all restrooms as required.
- Empty all trash containers and dispose of rubbish according to company policy.
- Clean, sweep, scrub, strip, wash and buff floors in sales areas and other areas as required.
- Clean and maintain employee breakroom and lunch areas.
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy.
- Employ the company HAZCOM program when necessary.
- Use proper safeguards to alert customers and employees of potential hazards such as wet or slippery floor surfaces.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Embrace new challenges and be a flexible team player, taking on responsibilities as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a grocery retail setting preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of grocery products, merchandising techniques, and inventory management
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Continuous hand manipulation including, grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
- Reaching above and at shoulder level frequently
- Standing, walking, bending up to 8 hours per day
- Walking on uneven surfaces
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Driving moving equipment (Pallet lifter)
- Working near hazardous equipment (Baler, power scrubber, buffer, trash compactor)
- Exposure to dust, gas, fumes (Cleaning solvents, Receiving dock)
- Exposure to extremes in temperature (Coolers, freezers)
- Working with biohazards such as blood borne pathogens and sewage (Restrooms)
