As a member of the Propulsion Team, you will have the opportunity to design and test a range of innovative propulsion system solutions that directly impact the success of our customers. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow with exposure to a broad range of piston engine propulsion systems and components , as well as developing solutions for the integration and operation of propulsion systems in our aircraft. Serving in a technical and leadership role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the planning, execution, and oversight of innovative projects to meet a wide array of customer goals.
  • Support the design, analysis, testing, integration, manufacturing, and fielding of aircraft propulsion systems, including piston engines, propellers, controls, fuel systems, oil systems, and related components.
  • Determines annual and multi year technical objectives for designated engineering systems or project(s)/program(s).
  • Oversee and assist in the completion of program deliverables such as component and assembly designs, test plans and reports, analysis documentation, and other deliverables to meet program objectives, requirements, and schedule.
  • Troubleshoot various propulsion-related systems including piston engines, engine control systems, fuel systems, oil systems, propellers, and related components.
  • Represents the assigned systems or projects(s)/program(s) as a prime technical expert.
  • Act as expert consultant and advisor in identified area(s) of engineering.
  • Advises or directs the activities of assigned project(s)/program (s) to achieve technical objectives.
  • Directs and allocates technical resources and professional staff to achieve objectives.
  • Develops new and/or expands existing business opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance, reporting, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Participates in the planning, selection, retention, and development of the professional staff.
  • Publishes and present technical papers and abstracts and participate in internal and external technical program reviews.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; fifteen or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, thirteen or more years of experience with a masters degree, or ten or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project and/or program leadership including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established project deadlines or milestones.
  • Must posses the ability to contribute to the development of new concepts and principles; resolve unusually complex technical problems; serve as spokesperson on projects and/or programs; and be a technical expert in one or more areas of engineering. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives. Customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance.
  • A Professional Engineering License, original work(s) published in professional engineering journals, invited to present one or more original works to a national or international engineering symposium, and invited to Chair engineering review panels as a technical expert are desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years of experience related specifically to diesel engines.
  • Ability to recognize roadblocks or issues and suggest an appropriate course of action for prevention or resolution.
  • Experience working with CREO, Windchill, NX, and Teamcenter.
