We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our Applied Sciences and Technologies (ASTech) team within the Agile Mission Systems (AMS) division here in San Diego.

We are looking for a senior engineer who enjoys developing new technologies and techniques that solve critical problems, with the ability to assist in rapid prototyping for proof-of-concept demonstrations. In this role, you will support the development of novel sensing capabilities leveraging a wide range of technologies; RF, AI/ML, EO/IR, DSP, EW, etc. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Manager of the RF & Signal Processing team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiate and develop highly innovative solutions to advanced technical problems
- Perform assessments of candidate state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms
- Develop sensing capabilities leveraging a wide range of technologies; RF, AI/ML, EO/IR, DSP, EW, etc.
- Develop and assess novel communications solutions, including waveforms, networking, and electronics
- Modeling link-budgets to help define system requirements and performance
- Implement Space-time adaptive processing (STAP) techniques
- Perform analysis of candidate designs to determine the impact to subsystem and system performance
- Provide expert guidance and consulting to other staff members
- Assist in the concept generation for, and authorship of, white papers and proposals
- Support supplier and subcontractor evaluations
- Provide technical management of subcontracts when required
- Represent the Company as a technical contact to customers and suppliers
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education
- Proficiency in one of the following languages is required, and familiarity with more than one is desired: MATLAB, Python, C
- Previous experience with radar signal processing, digital signal processing, or communications is desired but not required
- Previous Electronic Warfare (EW) experience is desired but not required
- Previous experience with modeling and analysis of electronic systems, subsystems and circuits is desired but not required.
- Must be a team player with excellent communications skills both verbally and in technical writing.
- Must be able to prepare and conduct detailed technical presentations and reviews.
- Must be customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
- Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
- Limited travel and extended work schedules may be required.
Salary range: 81,080 - 141,650
