In collaboration with the State of Connecticut, Electric Boat offers pre-employment training (EWIB) to get you started on learning the fundamentals of the trade.

With more than a century of experience, Electric Boat has established standards of excellence in the design, construction and lifecycle support of submarines for the U.
S. Navy while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. A Sheetmetal Worker is required to interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability.
Job tasks include layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of all light gage metalwork which includes air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors, furniture and Formica.
Work assignments will be accomplished using company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, shipyard procedures and shop machinery.
Work conditions may include entry in restricted / confined spaces.
