Job Description GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Joint Service Provider Enterprise Transport Management - Next-Gen (JSP ETM - NG) team at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require the employee to report full-time onsite. HOW OUR NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: * Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining network devices (switches, routers) of data and communications networks as part of Network Team.
* Work with Tier I/II Service Desk Technicians and cable's team to resolve customer impacting network outages, network changes and activation.
* Monitor, assign, and work Service Now tickets ensuring they are resolved within the established Service Level Agreement
* Analyzes network topologies, traffic and capacity requirements
* Monitor network connectivity
* Create Standard Operations Procedures and Shift Reports
* Maintain team schedule
* Handle all escalations
* May work odd hours to support facility maintenance actions to minimize customer impact.
* Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel
* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
* Perform other duties as assigned WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED: * Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance
* Certification: * ---- DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security CE or higher)
* ---- Computing Environment certification
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, OR the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
* Experience: 5 years of network engineering or network administration experience
* Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with the Network Administration

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
