General Fasteners is Hiring a Sales Project Manager Near Livonia, MI

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Formulate project plans with Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and Operations. Identify critical paths and activities, timelines and milestones, and internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Execute the plan by overseeing the launch of every new part within a launch project from quotation to customer PO through production ramp-up for successful launch (timing, quantity, and quality) by monitoring workflows, resolving issues that arise, and adjusting the plan as circumstances change. Communicate often and resolve conflicts.
  3. Manage and track other launch requirements such as EDI, packaging instructions, product quality standards, etc.
  4. Monitor and report on workflows and progress to timelines and plan milestones. Document all processes and key project decisions. Be cognizant of budget and timeline constraints. Report on project KPIs, budgetary status, and resource management to all stakeholders as needed and required.
  5. Recommend adjustments to processes, budgets, or project assumptions to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to project goals.
  6. Finalize the projects by communicating with all stakeholders for confirmation that the project has been completed to their satisfaction or receiving and responding to feedback for issues that still need to be resolved.
  7. Conduct a post-project review to determine what worked well and what process improvements can be made for the next project.
  8. Support Sales and other business areas through management of or participation in activities and projects affecting customer satisfaction and improved efficiencies and profitability.
  9. Participate in internal customer team meetings and customer meetings as required for management and completion of projects.
  10. Participate in sales management meetings and strategy sessions.
  11. Monitor and communicate the status of aged inventory, including Account Managers' progress in reviewing and determining disposition. Update the ERP system to reflect changing status.
  12. Manage E&O (Excess and Obsolete) inventory listings, handle customer inquiries, and facilitate sales of excess and obsolete inventory, both from general sales calls and those associated with the excess inventory website.
  13. Generate KPI reports related to aged inventory and track open and resolved inventory claims.
  14. Conduct monthly verification and adjustment of open claim quantities in response to shipments or inventory adjustments.
  15. Analyze, prepare, and communicate data associated with sales KPIs, including but not limited to recovery of expedite fees, customer surcharges, and tariffs.
  16. Assist Account Managers and Sales by processing, submitting, and following up on new customer quotations, as well as managing customer and item set-up. Provide backup support for Account Managers when necessary.

  • Ability to recognize potential problems, correctly identify actual problems and take the necessary steps to prevent or resolve problems.
  • Analytical ability to gather and interpret data and relevant information and draw accurate conclusions.
  • Ability to execute project plans and assignments that align with departmental and company goals and objectives, identify appropriate participants to maximize knowledge and resources, track progress, and ensure timely and on-budget completion of projects.
  • Ability to maintain up-to-date and accurate project documentation.
  • Proficient use of ERP system, Microsoft Word, Excel (v-lookup and pivot tables), and Outlook.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements.

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in a busy office setting and remotely as a self-starter without direct supervision at all times.
  • Some travel may be necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for up to 8 hours per day.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or higher or 5 years of related experience.
