General Human Outreach in the Community, Inc. is Hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist Near Queens, NY

Summary: The Quality Assurance Specialist/Investigator ensures that all Agency’s business and administrative programs are in regulatory compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Conduct unannounced visits to GHO’s residential facilities and day habilitation worksites.

· Observe individuals receiving services to ensure appropriate services are delivered as scheduled.

· Conduct random checks to verify the accuracy of employee’s submitted reports (i.e., ISPs, mileage reimbursement forms, timesheets, etc.) and report any errors or suspicions of wrongdoing (falsification of documents).

· Conduct all investigations related to individual abuse, incidents and other agency affairs as needed by the Agency.

· Conduct agency wide programmatic internal audits, case record reviews, and ensure that the Agency is prepared for external audits.

· Assist with curriculum and conduct agency-wide trainings on Corporate Compliance, HIPAA, OSHA, Abnormal Growth, and other regulatory/core training topics.

· Assist Agency programs in preparing for all external audits from agencies such as OPWDD, OMIG, and OIG.

· Identify areas of concern and work with Department/Program director to create systems to address these concerns.

· Review current GHO practices and system sand improvise plans or make recommendations ti improve upon the existing quality standards.

· Prepare trends analysis and other essential QA reports.

· Ensure that GHO is in compliance with all updated OPWDD rules and regulations and that our internal Policy and Procedures reflect this.

· Attend outside committees and trainings related to QA.

· Assist with new program development if necessary.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years OPWDD experience required.

· Must have knowledge of OPWDD regulations and Part 624.

· Previous experience with IRAs, Community Habilitation, Residential, MSC, Family Support, and Day Habilitation programs necessary.

· Must have strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

· Travel required.

Minimum Requirements:

· Physical Efforts:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, bend, or kneel.

- Requires normal finger dexterity to type and pick up routine office materials and tools in the office.

- Ability to lift and transport general office items/supplies in excess of five pounds (boxes, etc.)

- Ability to divide, separate, and sort office supplies received from outside vendors.

- Ability to stock shelves (bend, carry, and reach items in excess of five pounds). Store and place away items in cabinets, closet, and lavatory.

- Ability to do light housekeeping activities and other activities which will maintain the safety of the office and its employees.

· Mental Efforts:

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

- Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and information appropriate to the job.

- Ability to communicate in complex sentences and write sentences using proper adjectives and adverbs at a college graduate level.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others.

Required Trainings: New Employee Orientation, Intro to Developmental Disabilities, HIPAA/Privacy & Confidentiality, and any other assigned training.
