Description

We are a leading distribution center specializing in fresh produce, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers. Our Sacramento facility is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where precision and efficiency are key. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team.

The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our inventory systems, and supporting warehouse operations to maximize efficiency. This role requires a proactive individual who can work early shifts and is passionate about maintaining high standards in inventory management.

Schedule: 5am-1:30pm, Monday - Friday *Schedule may shift to weekend availability required*

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the accuracy of the inventories, by conducting cycle counts. Responsible for ensuring that the physical inventory matches the system inventory to the lot number. Additionally, responsible for identifying and reviewing inventory discrepancies. Works closely with Quality Control, Receiving and the Repack Department for the resolution of inventory discrepancies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Conduct cycle counts of all merchandise stored at the GP warehouse as scheduled by the Inventory Control Manager.
  2. Responsible for processing inventory adjustments.
  3. Responsible for the accuracy of our physical inventory to the correct lot number to correspond with those lots that are in Produce Pro.
  4. Understands the process and procedures for Repack Processing.
  5. Understand the processes for replenishing of slots and broken lot inventories.
  6. Assists with the movement of products when re-slotting.
  7. Research discrepancies/missing products/extra products on the truck to determine why product is missing, not delivered or if it was miss-picked.
  8. Backs up Quality Control when they are short staffed or for vacation coverage.
  9. Identification and correction of receiving, warehouse transfers and repack processing discrepancies.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Learn and utilize all office policies and procedures.
  2. Comply with all safety and security regulations and procedures.
  3. Report regularly to Supervisor
  4. Other related duties as assigned by Operations Manager and the Director of Operations.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  3. Must have produce industry knowledge.
  4. Excellent ability to work cross functionally with warehouse, procurement, quality control, accounting and other departments.
  5. Must have analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  7. Must have a strong sense of urgency and accuracy.
  8. Understanding use of WMS equipment, Windows-based computer applications and ProducePro.
  9. Ability to perform the primary functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School graduate or equivalent. Two years’ experience in the produce industry.
