$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 Per Year DOE / Full Time RemoteGenerations Healthcare is looking for a Behavioral Health Admissions Specialist to join our team. This specialized clinician will plan, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for our Special Treatment Programs (STP) within our skilled nursing facilities located throughout California.

Full Time Remote.Position Overview:Oversees Special Treatment Program (STP) referrals from County placement teams to verify all applicable and pertinent patient information required to present completed documentation files to the facility Director of Admissions for patient placement consideration. Works closely with County placement teams and Discharge Planners/Coordinators from acute hospitals and intermediate care facilities, and other medical entities to assist with the eventual placement of patients into STP programs.
Essential Functions:
  • Facilitates timely and regular communication and deploys meticulous follow up with County placement teams, discharge planners of acute hospitals, intermediate care facilities, and other potential admission sources.
  • Oversees pre-admission paperwork to compile all necessary documentation to present a complete referral file to the facility Director of Admissions.
  • Develops and executes policies and procedures related to STP Admission Process companywide.
  • Develops and manages STP database/tracking and reporting system of STP bed availability.
  • Manages patient placement with STP Facilities and Conservators to ensure seamless and cohesive submission of documentation by counties.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with the referring County placement teams to ensure high quality potential placement of patients.
  • Supports the Operations Director of Behavioral Health Services and Behavioral Health Projects Consultants with duties/tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains an on-going comprehensive list of patients referred to all STP locations.
  • Protects the privacy and confidentiality of residents’ medical and personal information.
  • Reports all allegations of potential resident abuse.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of medical, social, and financial information relating to skilled nursing care; knowledge of psychiatric care, conservatorships and moderate to severe mental illness preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with supervisors, facility admission staff and County placement staff.
  • Proven success in providing proactive, timely, and accurate customer service.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with outside entities, residents, representatives, and other staff members.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 or similar platform
  • Ability to use computer equipment and software and able to communicate with computer support staff.
  • Leadership skills needed to effectively manage the operations of the Behavioral Health admissions department.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently manage time.
  • Ability to cultivate positive County, facility staff and peer relationships.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in skilled nursing or hospital admissions; behavioral health setting preferred.
