Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the CAD team, providing guidance and technical expertise
- Oversee the creation, modification, and maintenance of electrical design drawings using AutoCAD
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure design specifications are met
- Supervise the implementation of standard drawing practices and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for CAD software and design projects
- Manage and prioritize project deadlines and allocate resources effectively
- Develop and optimize CAD processes and workflows to enhance efficiency
- Train and mentor CAD staff in best practices and software utilization
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to electrical design and CAD software
- Participate in project meetings to review designs, schedules, and project status
- Coordinate with external vendors and consultants for specialized design needs
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in design documentation
- Manage the documentation and filing of design drawings and associated records
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer-Aided Design, or related field
- Proven experience in AutoCAD Electrical design and drafting, with a strong understanding of electrical systems
- Demonstrated expertise in project management and leadership of CAD teams
- In-depth knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and design practices
- Proficiency in technical documentation and drawing control
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot CAD-related issues
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in training and mentoring CAD staff in software utilization and best practices
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of 3D modeling and simulation tools is a plus
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its integration with CAD software
- Understanding of electrical components, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Adherence to industry best practices for data management and security
- Certifications in AutoCAD or related software applications are desirable
- Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector is a plus
