Genesis10 is seeking a Executive Underwriter for a contract with our client in Chicago, IL. 30% Remote.
Job Description:
The client's risk transfer underwriting facility evaluates, prices, and manages the unbundled primary risk transfer business written by client. We are looking for an Executive Underwriter to profitably grow our casualty loss-sensitive book of business comprised of Workers' Compensation, Auto, and General Liability lines of business. This position works closely with our actuarial and sales teams to help identify the best opportunities to pursue. We have a flat organizational structure to embrace responsibility and an efficient decision-making process. The client department is in Chicago and supports the risk transfer underwriting for the entire country.
Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite, document, and service a book of new and renewal large account loss-sensitive casualty business.
• Understand, interpret, and consider predictive modeling results as part of the decision-making process.
• Consider different approaches to accounts to maximize profitability.
• Execute strategies to drive profitable growth.
• Cultivate relationships with our sales executives to evaluate accounts and find creative solutions.
• Generate and assist with the implementation of ideas for continuous operational improvement.
• Create and build relationships with treaty and facultative reinsurers.
• Mentor and help train less experienced underwriters.
• Minimal travel.

Required Basic Qualifications:

• 10 years of national account and/or facultative reinsurance casualty underwriting (Auto, GL, WC).
• Bachelor's degree, CPCU Preferred.
• Ability to analyze risk across a broad spectrum of industries and clearly present findings.
• Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Excel.

Compensation:
Hourly W2 pay rate $
We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
