OVERVIEW
Genovac Antibody Discovery, LLC is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Fargo, ND antibody and
recombinant protein production team. This individual is a talented, results-orientated scientist who has
knowledge of methods used to culture hybridoma cells for antibody production and transient transfection of
mammalian cells for recombinant antibody production. Additionally, the Associate Scientist has knowledge of
methods used to express recombinant proteins in E. coli and eukaryotic host cells.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Culture hybridoma cells for production of antibodies, including adaptation to serum-free culture
- Express recombinant antibodies and recombinant proteins in HEK and CHO cells, including cell
- Express recombinant proteins in E. coli
- Support antibody purification and testing, including FACS and ELISA binding verification
- Assist with manufacture plasmid DNA used for expression of antibodies and recombinant proteins
- With support of scientific leadership, design, execute and analyze experiments according to the
- Document experimental design and results in real-time according to site Standard Operating
- Support technical communications with Genovac clients, including preparation of data for
- Support efforts to identify, evaluate and implement new technologies
- Establish and support laboratory best practices; revise SOPs
- Maintain laboratory equipment and space in good working order
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Knowledge of and experience with tools and techniques used for analytical testing of antibodies
o Maintenance of adherent and suspension cell lines
o Transient transfection for recombinant protein and antibody expression
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience with bacterial cell culture for pDNA production and
- Ability to work productively on multiple projects each with a strict deadline
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a highly collaborative team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent record keeping and organization skills
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and to learn new techniques and technologies
