Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing library resources, providing assistance to patrons, and ensuring the effective organization of information. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures to enhance user experience.
- Manage and maintain library collections, including digitizing materials and overseeing archives management.
- Assist patrons in locating resources and using library databases effectively.
- Conduct research and provide reference services to support users' informational needs.
- Collaborate with staff on grant writing initiatives to secure funding for library projects.
- Oversee data management practices to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with intellectual property law.
- Organize educational programs and workshops to promote literacy and information literacy skills.
- Maintain metadata standards for cataloging materials in the library's collection.
- Manage projects related to library services, including budgeting for resources and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of information management principles and practices.
- Experience with databases, archives management, and digital resource management.
- Familiarity with grant writing processes is highly desirable.
- Proficient in project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Understanding of intellectual property law as it relates to library resources.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
