We're looking for a Director of Finance Strategic Projects in Raleigh, NC to join us in fulfilling our mission, while utilizing our values of excellence, improvement, and connection. In this role, you will lead various financial projects including Finance transformation, Operating plan process, major financing activities (debt, etc.), Enact Re, annual reviews, among others.
You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. You will partner with the finance leadership team to solve complex business problems from strategy through execution focused on developing finance functional strategies, improving business capabilities, and implementing new processes and technologies. Additional responsibilities will include handling special projects for Enact's Leadership Team including assisting with key financial analysis, assisting with resolving key finance issues, participating in the preparation of the annual operating plan, and assisting in running multiple projects across numerous intra-finance and cross functional projects simultaneously.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand the existing Finance technology landscape - identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement and work with the IT and Finance organizations to deliver technology enhancements and/or implement new applications.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of financial projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and scheduling.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and track progress using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks; escalate issues to leadership as needed.
  • Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels. Ensure all stakeholders are aware of project decisions and status.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless project execution.
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and promote open communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Specific near-term engagements include:
  • Annual operating plan and forecast updates
  • Own Finance Staff notes
  • Define long-term strategy, help drive prioritization, analyze trade-offs, and collaborate on the overall Financial technology roadmap to improve existing and future state of operations.
  • Conduct research and implement strategic initiatives to enhance Enact's Finance department efficacy and efficiency by leading major initiative to transform Finance through enhancements to processes and tools.

  • Deal implementation support, including tracking reviews required for contracts, monitoring for executed copies, storing and naming

  • Capture SOPs and process documentation to ensure accurate financial statements
  • Selections of outside vendors
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years related experience
  • Strategic thinker and proficient decision-making
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills with strong ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner
  • Strong understanding of insurance, accounting, and regulatory issues
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
