JOB TITLE:
Vice President, Chief Risk Officer-Investments
JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for the organization's investment risk management function. Identify risk in the Investment portfolio and the development of strategies to mitigate those risks. Develop and execute policies, procedures, and processes to mitigate various types of investment-related risk, including credit risk, interest rate risk, compliance risk (particularly as it relates to adherence to investment objectives and guidelines); pricing and valuation risk, credit and counterparty risk; and execution and trading risk. Partner with the Investments leadership team and the business segments to ensure the strategic vision of Investments is developed with consideration for the risks involved and proactively manage the risk reward balance. Provide counsel to trading, portfolio management, fixed income and other areas of investments and Genworth investment risk. Manage the organization and the processes to ensure that investments are effectively moving towards its enterprise risk management objectives.
SALARY:
$191,422 - $359,400 per year

40 hours per week, Mon - Fri 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, or related and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or as an Investment Risk and Derivatives Oversight officer, Investment Risk Director, Chief Risk Officer or related. Full term of experience must include each of the following: Risk or investment management; Fixed income instruments, including derivatives; Project management including overseeing complex investment risk assessment projects, developing strategies to mitigate potential risks for the portfolios, and ensuring effective implementation of risk management protocols; Experience in the Insurance Industry, including estimation of C1 capital within the RBC framework; Develop sophisticated investment risk models and tools to evaluate exposure; Conduct quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and data interpretation; Credit Risk modeling experience, using Loss Given Default, factor models, and Expected and Unexpected model estimation techniques; Market Risk Indicators (E.g. Value at Risk, Expected Shortfall, Potential Future Exposure) and relative risk models (E.g. Risk Attribution Analysis, and Tracking Error); Use credit migration models and techniques for required capital estimation; Create economic scenarios and estimate the investment risk implications of those scenarios; Apply macroeconomic models and econometric techniques and perform Montecarlo simulations to model the credit migration of the portfolio holdings (using Markovian process estimations models, Matrix Algebra, and credit risk models); and Use statistical programing language such as R.
