Geologics is seeking a talented Network Design Engineerto work with one of our national aerospace and defense partners based in Scottsdale, AZ. Position: Network Design Engineer Type: W-2, Contract Location: Onsite in Scottsdale, AZ Pay: $50.00 - $67.00 per hour An active Secret clearance is highly preferred. The ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required for this position. Due to the nature of work performed in the facility, U.S. citizenship is required. Job Responsibilities: * Design and plan network systems, as well as provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. * Deliver specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. * Use your extensive network knowledge to coordinate third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems with department users and department network administrators. * We'll rely on you to maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
Required Skills/Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
* Develop and provide innovative and creative solutions to a variety of difficult problems of considerable scope and complexity, using established policies
* Display initiative on assignments, exercise independent judgment, and professionally execute projects with little direction
* Possess a very strong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories and expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
* Capable of working on complex problems of diverse scope or situations or data that requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors
* Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
* Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field
