I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:

The George Washington University Law School is the oldest law school in Washington DC. GW Law was established in 1865 as the Columbian College Department of Law and in those nearly 160 years, GW Law has become a highly ranked and respected institution. The Law School offers diverse academic opportunities in an atmosphere that fosters a strong sense of inclusion and community to a large, diverse, and highly motivated student body. Students hail from nearly every U.S. state and numerous foreign countries, and graduates go on to practice law throughout the country. GW Law's applicant pool is typically among the highest of the nation's 200 law schools.
This position reports to the Director of Admissions. The position represents the Law School both on campus and off campus in order to 1) support the development and implementation of recruitment strategies, 2) evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and recruitment initiatives, and 3) review admissions applications and make recommendations regarding admissions decisions. The core responsibilities of this role are to 1) contribute to and execute strategic recruitment initiatives, 2) analyze recruitment data, 3) holistically evaluate applications and make recommendations for admissions decisions, 4) determine eligibility for special admissions programs, and 5) present recommendations to final review authority.
This position plans, executes, and represents the university both on campus and off campus at events, including information sessions, interview programs, and law school fairs. This position leads special programs in support of admissions efforts, including, but not limited to: 1) preview days, a series of on-campus events for nearly 400 admitted student guests; 2) other prospective/admitted student events on campus and throughout the country; and 3) individual presentations before pre-law and other groups.
This position leads the Law School's volunteer student ambassador program, including recruiting, training, and advising current students regarding outreach to prospective and admitted students.
This position has communications-oriented components, including 1) the review and editing of Admissions web pages, 2) digital outreach to prospective students, 3) the development of hard copy and online prospective and admitted student materials, and 4) input on the Admissions Office's social media program.
Finally, this position is also the liaison to our alumni admission's ambassadors, who manage a large outreach program to welcome admitted students.
The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience.
