Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral forms; knowledge of developmental disabilities, knowledge of training programs, ability to work effectively with staff, consumers and families. Must be able to perform physical and visual skills a listed: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Successful completion of orientation program. Ability to drive.

Qualifications:

• Current S.C. Licensure as LPN and a valid South Caroline driver's license with a good driving record. Experience preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Keep people we serve safe
• Protects people's rights. Reports abuse
• Provides and assists staff in the provision of the medical care which meets individual needs. Services are to be rendered in according with Federal and State guidelines.
• Develops, revise, updates and participates in the development or implementation of individuals program plans. Participates as a member of the ID Team.
• Develops medical care plans which physician has determined that a client requires such a plan.
• Review health status of individuals by physical exam as required or as needed. Refers to physician for health problems.
• Provides any nursing care as prescribed by the physician.
• Trains staff in detecting signs/symptoms of illness or dysfunction, first aid procedures, and basic non-professional skills needed to meet health needs of the individual(s). Other training a needed.
• Responsible for seeing that all individuals are escorted to medical appointments.
• Transcribes physician's orders, administers routine oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular medications following applicable guideline and procedures.
• Charts at least weekly progress of each individual.
• Charts significant responses to medications and documents treatment or illnesses.
• Responsible for TB control. (Staff and Clients)
• Administer Heptavax series to staff ads needed.
• Responsible for overseeing that utilization Reviews and obtaining Level of Car information.
• Assist Residential Director in maintaining Infection Control Policy for the residential programs.
• Responsible for assuring implementation of Pharmacy meetings at least quarterly.
• Trains individuals on health care and sexual awareness goals.
• Assures completion of nursing, medical, pharmacy, self-administration and sexual awareness assessments.
• Performs other related duties as required
