Assistant Child Care Teacher (temporary), Early Learning Center - Georgetown University Law Center
The Georgetown Law Early Learning Center has been designed to meet the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs of children in a safe, nurturing environment.
Toys and equipment have been chosen to develop fine and gross motor skills and give children opportunities to explore and select their own activities.
Art, dramatic play, blocks, discovery materials, manipulatives, and books are some of the 'interest areas' incorporated in the Center.
We are conveniently located on the lower level of the Gewirz Student Center, just a few blocks from the Capitol.
Job Overview
The Assistant Child Care Teacher (temporary), directly under the guidance of a Lead Teacher, provides support in planning, initiating, and implementation of appropriate daily activities that promote positive development and learning based on the strengths, interests, and needs of the children.
They also assist the Lead Teacher in communicating regularly with parents and guardians about their child's activities and development.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the Director of Georgetown Law Early Learning Center, the Assistant Child Care Teacher interacts with university families that include student, faculty, and staff, and enrolled families from the greater metropolitan community.
All staff members support the University's mission by addressing faculty, staff, and student families' need for the early education and care of their young children.
They work collaboratively in a team and independently, build positive relationships, communicate clearly and effectively, demonstrate flexibility and reliability, exhibit respect, empathy;
and care for the children and their families, colleagues, and other members of Georgetown University and the surrounding community.
