Main function:
Georgia Eye Institute of the Southeast is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Intern to join our team. As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of Optometry and Ophthalmology.
Duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Responsible for shadowing an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist to learn more about their daily work. Help make treatment recommendations to patients, or determine how to apply the science of vision to new products.
Qualifications:
1. Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
2. Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public
3. Ability to make decisions and solve problems
4. Willing to learn
5. Excited to work with patients
Education requirements
1. High school diploma or GED certificate
2. Training/courses in medical office activities
3. Being enrolled in an accredited Optometry course, with a minimum GPA.
4. Language skills adequate for written, interpersonal and telephone communication in American English
