Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition is Hiring an Advanced Practice Provider Near Atlanta, GA

Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition Inc Parker Center office is looking for a primary care Advanced Practice Provider (Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to provide diagnosis and treatment for HIV, HCV, and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD), women's health (annual exams and pap smears), and Suboxone treatment for Atlanta and surrounding area. This is a full-time position with a great benefit package including health insurance, short term disability, professional insurance, PTO, training, and 401K. 

Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:

  • Interview patients, collect medical history, and perform physical examinations/assessments.
  • Provides education, counseling, and treatment plans to patients.
  • Order lab tests, review lab results, and interpret test results to medical assistants and patients.
  • Provide HIV, HCV, and STI diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide annual women's health screening, education, and referral to treatment as needed.
  • Provide Suboxone treatment and counseling to patients. 
  • Educate and dispense medication to patients from onsite pharmacy. 
  • Communicates patient progress and barriers with GHRC case managers.
  • Secures client information and maintains client confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential.
  • Attend health fairs along with team members as assigned. 
  • Provide services via telehealth through HIPPA approved telehealth systems.
  • Follows OSHA guidelines relating to proper use of handling PPE, needles, bloodborne pathogens, and disposing of biohazardous materials.
  • Serves and protects the agency by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Works with Specialty pharmacy to ensure medication inventory at the clinic is up to date.
  • Enhances clinical understanding specially in infectious diseases including but not limited to reviewing new protocols released by CDC, DPH, and articles presented by preceptors and attending in person and online training identified by GHRC.
  • Clinical related tasks as assigned by the Director. 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Masters in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner along with valid Georgia License to practice.
  • 2 years of qualified experience is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to adhere to OSHA regulations, federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally as well as in writing.
  • Displays strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with staff in a professional, calm, patient, and welcoming manner.
  • Possesses strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail when processing paperwork.
  • Exceptional attendance record with the ability to consistently arrive to work on time.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and in a group environment.
  • Ability to work in a high-stressed environment and interact with marginalized individuals and communities.
  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Displays respect for peers, supervisors, and clients.
