Description
SUMMARY
As an FSQA System Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality systems and procedures to ensure compliance with standards set by the company, our customers, and regulatory authorities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish and monitor quality metrics, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards in the food industry.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develop and implement quality systems and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality metrics and monitor performance indicators to drive continuous improvement efforts.
•Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
•Manage the documentation of quality processes, including the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
•Perform review and sign-off of all HACCP/CCP related documentation through our Redzone Compliance Software.
•Coordinate and facilitate in all GFSI, customer or regulatory visits/audits, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards and follow-up of any CAPA's as needed within provided timelines.
•Investigate and resolve any food safety or quality issues (internal or external) by conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), monitoring effectiveness and trending.
•Maintain and manage customer requirements and documents, including completing customer questionnaires and requests received via email or through web-portals (i.e., TraceGains, Safefood 360, etc.).
•Coordinates and scribes for HACCP team meetings
•Provide training and support to employees on quality systems, procedures, and requirements.
•Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date in TraceGains software and keep current on an annual basis. This includes any documentation that is part of the SQF system.
•Approval of any new suppliers/raw materials; Kosher set-up
•Coordinate and facilitate biannual mock recall/trace exercises to ensure systems are working properly and conduct investigations with CAPA's for non-compliance.
•Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to food safety and quality management systems.
•Support the development and maintenance of a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
•Assist / support Regulatory with special projects - ESHA Labeling Project
•Assist Quality Assurance Manager with special projects, as needed.
•Additional duties assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in food science, quality management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety or quality assurance.
SQF Practitioner, required.
HACCP Certification, required.
PCQI Certification, required.
Proven experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems, preferably in the food industry.
In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF).
Strong understanding of food safety principles and practices, including allergen control, sanitation, and traceability.
Experience in conducting audits, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels along with external customers.
Proficient in using computer software and systems for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
