JOB INFORMATION:
Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist
Department(s): IT

JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Director of IT - Engineering, the Desktop Support Specialist installs, manages, maintains and services PC's and related peripheral equipment to insure uninterrupted service to GPA personnel and customers. The Desktop Support Specialist may be called upon to service any and all types of hardware used to support automated systems.
Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Plans and manages the inventory of GPA computer equipment including Windows laptops, desktops, monitors, network printers, and mobile devices.
  • Performs installation and configuration of personal computers as well as ongoing maintenance throughout the life cycle of the computer.
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis and resolution of workstations and IT related hardware problems.
  • Recommends and manages licensing of client-based software.
  • Manages the purchase and deployment of enterprise client hardware and software.
  • Enforces PC standards and makes recommendations on policies regarding PC standards.
  • Develops and manages automated techniques for gathering the data needed for all IT related Asset Management.
  • Assists in Microsoft Office 365 administration and mobile device management.
  • Assists in supporting remote user access.
  • Provides onsite and remote technical support for desktop hardware and applications.
  • Assist in the configuration and support of Mobile Device Management software.
  • Support IT and AV systems in conference rooms.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge of computer support and troubleshooting required.Must be proficient in all Microsoft Windows platforms and TCP/IP networking protocols.Experience with Microsoft O365 administration, Apple devices, active directory, and software licensing desired.Must have the ability to deal effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels as well as customers and the general public required.
Education
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
Licenses & Certifications
  • TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon Hire
  • Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire
