Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Drafting) position in the Industrial & Transportation Technology department in the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.
Undergeneral supervision of the Dean of Industrial & Transportation Technology and program coordinator, the Adjunct Drafting instructor providesinstructiontostudents.This role requires a dedicated individual abletoselectandassess student learning outcomes, foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
·Assistwithdevelopmentandreviewofprogramandsyllabi,goalsandobjectivesaccordingtoapprovedcurriculumandcoursesyllabistandards.
·Evaluateandreviewstudents'progressinattaininggoalsandobjectives.
·Adviseandcounselstudentsandmaintainappropriateadvisementrecordsoneachstudent.
·Demonstrateandensuretheuseofappropriateandeffectiveteachingtechniques,testingandgradingprocedures (includingpropermaintenanceofgradebooksandanyotherappropriaterecord-keepingrequirements).
·Displayexcellentoralandwrittencommunicationskills.
·Maintainandreviewclassroomsandlaboratoriesinaccordancewithapprovedclassroomandlabmanagementplans.
·Maintainandreviewprogramcertificationrequirements,asappropriate.
·Prepareandmaintainallrequireddocumentationandadministrativereports.
·Ensuressafetyandsecurityrequirementsaremetinthetrainingarea.
·Assistswithrecruitment,retention,andjobplacementefforts.
·Demonstratesknowledgeofcurrentpracticesintherelatedfields.
·FollowandenforcerulesandregulationsasdescribedbytheTechnicalCollegeSystemofGeorgiaPolicyManual andotherpoliciesandproceduresestablishedbytheinstitution.
·Selectandassessstudentlearningoutcomes,fostereffectivelearninginbothclassroomandlab settings, andpromotegoodpublicrelations viacontactsandregularcommunicationswith business, industry,andthepublicsector; and
·Perform additional duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
·Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field AND eighteen (18) credit hours in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Drafting or Engineering Graphics.
·Knowledge of AutoCAD and Rivet software.
·Mustbeabletoinstructstudentsandhandleadministrativeresponsibilities relatedtotheposition.
·Mustbeenergetic,highlymotivated,self-directed,opentonewideasandcustomerfocused.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
