Georgia state government is Hiring a Purchasing Asst 2 Near Macon, GA

Examples of Duties: Under the direction of the Asset Manager, performs processing, transactions or other technical-level duties for Asset Management and Surplus Property functions. Uses initiative and sound judgment to analyze information and determine an appropriate course of action, such as:

 

1.Process state and federal surplus disposals in accordance with USFS, DOAS and GFC guidelines and procedures.

2.Maintain accurate records of property disposals in accordance with USFS, DOAS and GFC guidelines and procedures.

3.Schedule appointments with external customers to pick up excess property, assisting with the removal of property from its physical location and ensuring all paperwork has been signed.

4.Assist in processing acquisition paperwork associated with the Federal Fire Fighter Property Program (FFP).

5.Process internal asset transfers in various databases to maintain accurate statewide inventories.

6.Assist GFC personnel in loading and unloading equipment.

7.Assist in other areas of the administration department as directed and performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited college or university OR Two years of experience in materials management (such as screening for Federal Property). Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Sufficient computer skills to navigate through multiple state, federal and internal websites. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Detail oriented and able to correctly manage significant amounts of paperwork.

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Agent 1 (FET040) or equivalent position.
