Georgia state government is Hiring a SEB Investigator Near Atlanta, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Executive Director, the Criminal Investigator I conducts administrative investigations related to the authority granted to the State Election Board.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform work of considerable difficulty in conducting administrative investigations for the State Election Board.
  • Support enforcement efforts of the State Election Board.
  • Enforce Georgia election statutes/policies and applicable rules of the State Election Board.
  • Investigate alleged or suspected violations of Federal, State, or local laws/rules and regulations that require advanced knowledge and expertise.
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive investigations and prepare reports upon conclusion.
  • Prepare and submit reports that detail investigative findings.
  • Examine records in order to locate links in chain of evidence or information.
  • Identify case issues and evidence needed based on analysis of charges, complaints, or allegations of violations.
  • Receive complaints and intelligence pertaining to possible violations of election statues, rules, and regulations under the authority or enforcement powers of the State Election Board.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with other state, local, and federal agencies on appropriate cases.
  • Collaborate with other authorities on activities such as surveillance and research.
  • Obtain and verify evidence by interviewing and observing respondents and witnesses or by analyzing records.
  • Provide testimony in criminal, administrative, and civil proceedings.
  • Statewide travel is required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

 

  • Ability to prepare clear concise reports in appropriate styles and formats.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to use all assigned equipment appropriately and effectively.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to use proper and effective interviewing techniques.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and agency laws, policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Knowledge of general investigative techniques.
  • Knowledge of court and administrative proceedings.
  • Ability to conduct surveillance, use covert devices, and interview individuals.
  • Knowledge of case management tools, techniques, technology, and software.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and manage large numbers of cases.
  • Ability to foster teamwork.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A valid driver’s license is required. Must be age 21 or older, a United States citizen, and possess a strong moral character.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of Detective / Investigator Experience.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent.
