Department Information
The EI2 finance department plays a crucial role in managing EI2's financial resources effectively, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the EI2 mission of providing progress through Service by helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life, and collaborating with communities, enterprises, and organizations to increase their market competitiveness, strategic visions, and opportunities in Georgia and beyond through the application of science, technology, research, and innovation.

Job Summary

Perform financial records maintenance and report preparation and reconciliation within the business area of an academic/research unit or non-academic department. Coordinate those activities with other campus units. Work may involve records, reports and proposals related to funding from various sources, budgeting and accounting. This position will interact with on a consistent basis with: unit management, staff and co-workers. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Within an academic/research unit, prepare financial data related to proposals, grants and contracts, general appropriations, endowments and other funds.
Job Duty 2 -
Prepare data for use in budget amendments and other budget related reporting.
Job Duty 3 -
Collect, reconcile and audit monthly unit expense transactions.
Job Duty 4 -
Process travel requests to include review for accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
Job Duty 5 -
Process payroll, time documents and personnel action forms.
Job Duty 6 -
Coordinate unit financial related actions with Institute financial units.
Job Duty 7 -
Post transactions to internal ledgers.
Job Duty 8 -
Generate check requests.
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Workday and Salesforce experience a plus, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of and skill in applying general accounting principles and practices within a university business environment. Additionally required are attention to detail and accuracy and use of office and specialized accounting related computer applications.

Salary range: $22.77-$26.50/ hourly

Other Information

Additional duties include: This Individual will be responsible for the collection of past due University accounts, analysis and reconciliation of all accounts receivables. This individual will be responsible for providing a high level of customer service to students, faculty, staff, and clients regarding all aspects of their accounts, including problem research and resolution. The primary focus of this position is to issue and send invoices to clients; perform due diligence and collections on client accounts, refer past-due balances to collection agency, and write-off uncollectible accounts.
