GEOTEK is Hiring a System Administrator (contract onsite) Near Stewartville, MN

Brief DescriptionThis position is responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing software, hardware and networks.
Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. This person should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly, with a willingness to work on any technology issue, including plant equipment. Patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users is key. The primary goal for this position will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Functions
  • 1 years of M365 experience
  • Manage network servers and technology tools
  • Set up accounts and workstations
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Perform second level Help Desk work ensuring users get prompt and expert service
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • SQL and C experience are preferred
  • SQL Server Reporting Experience
  • Experience administering programs (SolidWorks, ERP Systems, Document Management Systems, EPDM)
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English effectively
