Gerdau's North American business divisions manufacture long and special steel products for the agriculture, energy, industrial, automotive, and manufacturing markets. We stimulate the economy through our network of recycling operations and mills, operating ten mills in the U.S. and three in Canada. Our mills utilize efficient and clean production practices, including the use of electric arc furnace (EAF) technology. This makes our steel one of the greenest choices available.

Position Overview

An Intern with Gerdau must have an eagerness to grow personally and professionally, being a part of a global company with more than 120 years of entrepreneurship and achievements in the steel industry. This program is for individuals with high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously, who aim at consistently outperforming in a variety of settings and circumstances. During the program you will interact with team members from around the world. You will have the opportunity to learn on the job and work on ambitious projects that will further your development.

The Business Intern will be given the opportunity to learn and experience firsthand all aspects of training and development for a global company. You will work collaboratively with the entire team tohelp develop our employees.

Job Functions

• Responsible for timely/accurate processing and reporting of Credit, AR, & AP information.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and current records, files, etc., as necessary for the ongoing integrity of account information.
• Champions change/project management and collaborates for best practices across supported business groups.
• Drive continuous improvements initiated to enhance operational performance.
• Ensures data integrity through management of data and effective data processing guidelines.
• Identifies, evaluates, and resolves data anomalies by running reports and performing analysis on selected information.
• Responsible for proper, efficient, and effective work methods including automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for setting up new accounts, including entering data into the appropriate systems, establishing a credit file, and interfacing with the sales team regarding the status of the new accounts.
• Perform credit review, to ensure an acceptable range of risk and ultimate collectability within a reasonable time under the direction of the credit manager.

Requirements

* Have completed at least two years of a college degree from a recognized accredited college or university in aBusiness-related discipline (Finance, Accounting, and other related disciplines).
