Get Fresh Produce has been in business since 1982 providing fresh produce and other products to restaurants and other end users in Chicagoland and the surrounding areas. As our Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day direction within the Transportation dept and fleet of vehicles for our Nashville, TN location.

Essential Functions:

• Please take note of the following tasks:
• Daily dispatch of drivers and allocation of all necessary equipment for the day.
• Planning and mapping of efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries to customers.
• Reviewing Samsara cold chain and driver compliance management.
• Direct supervision of drivers and fleet.
• Hands-on management, including providing coaching and training through ride-alongs as required.
• Reporting service issues to sales, customer service, and operations teams.
• Collaborating with dispatch personnel to address any business needs.
• Coordinating with operations to meet customer and driver requirements.
• Involvement in the hiring of drivers, including conducting interviews, road tests, and handling necessary paperwork.
• Participation in safety investigations, including reviewing and reporting with root-cause analysis.
• Holding monthly driver meetings to discuss current performance with our customer base.
• Reviewing all driver payroll hours in the Kronos system.
• Ensuring compliance with HOS in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Working closely with vendors to schedule PMs, repairs, and rental equipment for the fleet.
• Creating driver schedules, approving time-off requests, handling disciplinary matters, and managing attendance issues.
• Coordinating with GF INDY CDC and shuttle driver arrivals, and loading of routes for nightly dispatch.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dock, including exterior grounds.
• Coordinating movement throughout the dock with Fresh Edge sister companies.
• Completing special projects and handling other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in transportation with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Produce Pro ERP software a plus.
• Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements
• Transportation or Warehousing experience in the Food industry a plus
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, attention to detail/accuracy.
• Self-managed, motivated, ability to work through difficult situations.
• Leadership skills with focus on moral and team motivation
• Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English, bilingual a plus.
• CDL A or B Class license a plus

Work Schedule :

• 5 to 6 -day work week
• 40 Hours
• Start time of split shifts until work is completed.
• Mandatory Holiday shifts and Saturday Work as needed.
• Off Saturdays.
• This is an in-person position in Nashville TN

Compensation:

• Salary $75,000-$80,000, based on experience.
