The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) at a leading academic institution is seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Coordinator to join our dynamic team focused on disability health research. This position, based at the Burlington Building, involves coordinating and conducting research activities for the federally funded Michigan Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems (MI-SCIMS) and other grants. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to enhance the health, well-being, and quality of life for individuals living with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). ResponsibilitiesManage recruitment and retention of research participants, conducting informed consent processes, and collecting data from inpatient and outpatient settings. Coordinate with the National SCI Database Center and other research institutions nationwide. Develop and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, ensuring compliance with human subjects protections. Supervise and mentor research assistants, ensuring adherence to study protocols and ethical standards. Conduct data management, quality checks, and contribute to the development of research protocols. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Health Science or related field. Certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of experience in clinical research, preferably with SCI or disability-related studies. Preferred QualificationsExperience with IRB submissions and clinical research at academic medical centers. Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in research. Work ScheduleThis is an in-person position with a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate participant engagement and team collaboration. Work Locations: Office space provided at the Burlington Building with regular travel to University Hospital or Chelsea Hospital required.
