The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Germany Researcher to join our team. This remote position involves collecting, reviewing, and managing political violence and protest data across Germany, Austria, and Liechtenstein. The researcher will commit to 30 hours per week, delivering weekly reports on Saturdays/Sundays. This entry-level contractor role allows flexibility to work from any location with reliable internet access.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and record political violence data from various sources, including news reports and NGO publications, using provided templates.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability through meticulous review and management.
Participate in training exercises to enhance coding proficiency and maintain high standards of data analysis.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in conflict studies, peacebuilding, international development, or related fields.
Proficiency in Excel is essential; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Fluent in English and German; proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
Experience in desk-based research with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Understanding of political, social, and protest movements in Germany or relevant countries is advantageous.
Access to a personal computer, reliable internet, and email.
