Get It Recruit - Administrative is Hiring a Remote HR Specialist (Benefits & Compliance) - Remote

Join our team as an HR Specialist and play a key role in shaping our workplace environment. You will be pivotal in administering employee benefits, ensuring compliance, and supporting our HR processes. Your expertise will aid in fostering a supportive atmosphere where our employees can thrive.
Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits and payroll.
Administer various employee leave types, such as PTO, FMLA, and PFML.
Handle payroll operations efficiently, ensuring timely updates for new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
Maintain and update the employee handbook, code of conduct, and other company policies.
Collaborate with brokers to manage the annual benefits enrollment process.
Ensure adherence to payroll regulations at the state and local levels.
Oversee compliant workers' compensation policies.
Manage and update personnel records and our HR information system (HRIS).
Stay updated on the evolving landscape of federal, state, and local employment laws, identify compliance risks, and implement corrective measures.
Assist in the annual review of employee compensation, offering data and insights to aid management decisions.
Oversee background checks and manage our third-party ethics hotline.
Advise management on employee performance issues and provide support in the execution of performance improvement plans and terminations.
Occasionally handle office management tasks, such as coordinating mailings, organizing office events, and managing vendor relationships.
Who You AreA person-centered professional who values integrity and reliability, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Agile and adept at managing multiple tasks, you excel in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are comfortable with ambiguity.
Experienced in payroll management, employee benefits, and compliance, with a solid foundation in employment law.
Proactive and communicative, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in HR roles focused on payroll, compliance, and benefits administration.
Proficient in navigating payroll systems, HRIS, and applicant tracking systems.
Ideally, you have previous experience in a startup environment, particularly within the fintech or cryptocurrency sectors.
Based in Austin, Texas, and able to work a hybrid schedule, with a preference for being onsite at least three days per week.
Desirable QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
SHRM certification is a plus.
Familiarity with various HRIS and ATS platforms.
An interest in or basic understanding of bitcoin is advantageous.
