Key Responsibilities Collaborate with management to determine optimal training methodologies. Develop and present effective training curricula and processes. Maintain evaluation tools to measure competency and performance. Schedule and conduct audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance. Monitor coder quality and productivity, providing feedback and additional training as needed. Identify coding issues and compliance risks through chart reviews. Stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations (ICD-10-CM, PCS, DRG, SOI, ROM, CPT-4). Develop and enforce departmental coding policies. Serve as a subject matter expert for departmental stakeholders. Provide one-on-one training and support to coders. Conduct coding and compliance research as necessary. Required ExperienceFive years of inpatient/outpatient coding, including two years of coding training experience. Preferred Experience/SkillsExperience in training/education and auditing coders. Proficiency in Profee and facility coding. Certifications/Licenses Required: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) from relevant professional associations.
