About UsWe invite applications for a tenure-track position as Director of the Nursing Program within the School of Nursing, located in the vibrant city of Odessa, Texas, is a regional, comprehensive institution serving over 7500 students. With a commitment to student-centered teaching, research, and public service, aims to cultivate engaged citizens while advancing the technological and public interests of West Texas.
ResponsibilitiesLead the achievement of the School of Nursing's mission and goals, representing the program within the university and the broader community.
Provide strategic leadership for the nursing program, overseeing areas such as student affairs, faculty development, curriculum design, and research initiatives.
Foster relationships within the university, healthcare community, and regional healthcare systems to enhance program effectiveness and student success.
Innovate teaching methods and program delivery to accommodate growth in student numbers and program offerings.
Deliver courses and supervise clinical practicum as needed, maintaining high standards of teaching excellence.
Conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and collaborate across disciplines to contribute to scholarly endeavors.
Participate in curricular development, academic advising, and student mentorship activities.
Support students in need of academic assistance and contribute to their professional development for practice, graduate studies, and research.
Engage in departmental expansion initiatives and university service as required.
QualificationsHold an unencumbered current registered nurse license in Texas or be eligible for licensure.
Possess a master's or doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.
Demonstrate a minimum of two years of teaching experience in a professional nursing education program.
Exhibit leadership experience in nursing education administration.
Eligibility for tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Professor rank.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
Awareness of current trends in nursing and higher education.
Effective interpersonal and organizational abilities.
