We're seeking an instructional designer to support our online courses, programs, and faculty professional development initiatives. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with the Director of Instructional Design to ensure the quality and consistency of our online offerings, maintaining adherence to accreditation and regulatory standards. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid setup, combining face-to-face office hours with remote work.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Director of Instructional Design to develop and refine plans for online education initiatives, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
Work closely with faculty to create a unified course format that enhances the student learning experience.
Provide guidance and support to faculty throughout the course development and implementation process.
Design courses with accessibility in mind, integrating active learning strategies to promote engagement and interaction.
Assist in faculty development initiatives related to online teaching best practices and innovative strategies.
Evaluate courses based on online best practices and implement improvements as needed.
Coordinate with other university departments to enhance the overall online education experience for faculty and students.
Job QualificationsMaster's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field from an accredited institution.
Significant experience in instructional design, particularly in distance learning environments.
Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), with preference given to experience with Blackboard.
Knowledge of accessibility guidelines for online content.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Desired QualificationsExperience providing professional development to faculty.
Teaching experience at the graduate level.
Administrative or leadership experience.
Record of professional and scholarly activity.
