We are looking for a talented Senior Education Researcher to join our dynamic team. This position involves working with subject matter experts to leverage learning science theories and practices, data analysis, and psychometric methods for assessments. These skills will be essential in creating engaging and effective learning experiences. Your proficiency in modeling relevant data, simulations, case studies, and asynchronous experiential approaches will be key to developing high-quality training content.
ResponsibilitiesQuantitative & Qualitative Data Methodologies: Utilize educational and social scientific methods for data generation, analysis, and reporting.
Learning Science Theory: Understand and apply modern learning science principles, including the role of assessments and experiential learning.
Integrating Learning Design: Integrate learning experiences into real-world contexts through mentoring, train-the-trainer approaches, on-the-job training, community-driven training, and practice-driven approaches.
Psychometric Methods for Assessment: Develop and improve assessment instruments, applying them to various adult training scenarios such as traditional assessments, observations, rubrics, peer assessments, self-assessments, and assessment-as-learning (AaL) frameworks.
User Experience Research & Testing: Conduct UX research using methods like product testing, observations, tree testing, card sorting, interviews, focus groups, cognitive walkthroughs, appreciative inquiry, HEART analysis, and other UX-specific approaches.
Literature Review: Conduct thorough literature reviews to identify trends in adult learning and training, synthesizing findings into meaningful reports or white papers.
Presentation Experience: Present UX findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, emphasizing the relationship between user experiences and business priorities.
QualificationsWork Schedule: East Coast core hours of 9 am to 3 pm EST.
Technical Requirements: Reliable high-speed internet connection.
Education: Master's degree or higher in Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
Experience: At least 7 years of experience in research, adult learning, data science, or related fields.
Adult Learning Theory & Design: Knowledge of adult learning theory and training, including the implementation of learning frameworks such as Problem-Based Learning, Praxis-Based Approaches, Community-Driven Learning, Personalized Learning, and Daily Learning for Adults.
Experiential Learning Expertise: Familiarity with experiential and user-centered learning methodologies and UX research approaches.
Collaborative Skills: Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong facilitation and analysis skills.
Creativity and Innovation: Bring innovative ideas to enhance learning experiences.
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and consistency in research, development, and presentation of findings.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with learning science, user experience research, and data analysis.
Proficiency in implementing adult learning design frameworks.
Knowledge of learning management systems and training delivery platforms.
Familiarity with major learning theorists such as Kolb, Fink, Barr & Tagg, and the works of Malcolm Knowles, Cyril Houle, and Albert Bandura.
Clearance RequirementActive Public Trust or the ability to obtain clearance.
