We are currently seeking passionate and certified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team of dedicated professionals at AIS. As an independent contractor, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with visual impairments across various regions of Tennessee. Whether you're seeking part-time or full-time opportunities, both in-person and remote positions are available.
In this role, you'll serve as a vital member of a student's educational team, providing comprehensive assessments and tailored services to meet the unique needs of each individual. From assisting in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to leveraging innovative technologies for enhanced learning experiences, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering student success.
QualificationsHold a Professional License in Visual Impairments
Preferred Work-related Experience As a TVIThe ideal candidate will possess:
Extensive knowledge of special education regulations, policies, and procedures
Proven experience in writing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
Proficiency in conducting and documenting Functional Vision and Learning Media Assessments
Strong command of braille and low vision techniques
Ability to provide effective consultation and training to teachers and service providers
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and conflict resolution
Comprehensive understanding of the diverse characteristics of individuals with visual impairments
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students, parents, and colleagues
