Minimum QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Extensive expertise in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) planning, Grad-Point, and student promotion requirements.
Considerable knowledge of Homebound and 504 processes and procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Apps, and electronic resources supporting Homebound and 504.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, using various communication techniques to facilitate information flow and collaboration.
Experience in designing and delivering professional learning sessions.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student and adult populations.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain productive relationships with school staff, students, parents, and the community.
Education, Training, And ExperienceMaster's Degree in School Counseling or School Social Work.
Three years of experience in public education or a related field.
Certification And License RequirementsHold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator's License as a school counselor, school social worker, or school psychologist.
Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license as per North Carolina requirements.
Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated success in promoting equitable opportunities for students through strategic behavioral and academic support within a school environment.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop and oversee processes for students entering and exiting the Homebound Program.
Monitor and evaluate compliance with 504 regulations.
Utilize expertise in student referral systems to gather and analyze data for informed decision-making.
Support the social and emotional needs of students and families during transitions to Homebound and 504 Plans.
Track academic and behavioral progress of Homebound students.
Implement and train others in Trauma-Informed and Restorative practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Physical RequirementsThis role operates in a professional office environment with a moderate noise level. Standard office equipment such as computers and copiers are routinely used. Occasional interaction with school system staff, external funding agencies, and community members may be required. The position may involve light physical exertion up to ten pounds and occasional driving.
